As part of the corporate spin-off of a number of NBCUniversal cable properties, MSNBC had the opportunity to reinvent itself as MS NOW, while promising to remain THE destination for breaking news and thoughtful analysis their audience has relied on for nearly 30 years.
Acknowledging the challenge for a committed audience to accept a new brand (and the media “hot takes”!), we created a new identity that clearly communicated “politics”, while embracing a confident voice that aims to ELEVATE THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION.
“In most cases, branding is about DIFFERENTIATION. Sometimes, however, it can be about FITTING IN; MSNOW needed to be recognizable as a politics/news brand at first glance.”
